Kershaw Alaskan Blade Trader Review
April 18, 2009

The Kershaw Alaskan Blade Trader knife set is a fixed blade knife with exchangeable blades. the set comes with three blades. The Hunting blade The Gut hook blade, and a saw blade. The handle is made of a soft rubber that is non slip and comfortable. The belt sheath holds everything in perfect position for ease of use.

The locking mechanism used by Kershaw on the Blade Trader is quick to change blades and holds the blades securely. there is no wobble or slippage of the blades when they are locked into the handle. The non slip rubber of the handle is comfortable in the hand and the grip does not get slippery even when wet or bloody.

The Hunter blade is the work horse blade. This blade is designed to handle all of your general chores a knife would be needed for. The blade holds an edge well and is easily sharpened.

The gut hook blade has a gut hook that is large enough to open the abdomen of any game animal. This blade also has a curved edge that makes skinning your game an easy task.

The saw blade is perfect for everything from cutting firewood at camp, to clearing limbs and bushes from shooting lanes, to cutting bones in preparing your game for transport out of the woods.
The Kershaw Alaskan Blade Trader knife set puts all of the tools you need for a successful hunting trip right on your belt. The fit and finish for the set is excellent and it is durable enough to last for years.

After a little internet searching, reading, and checking up on this stuff I found its a pretty well established product in Canada and hails from Quebec where they have this funny habit of speaking a lot of French. Thus the name, Jig-A-Loo, and the companys claim it derives from a saying they have up north, Ive got it!
